Moscow, 12 Mar – IA OilGasPlant.net. A leak oil and its pollution of the aquatic environment is an extremely serious danger to its inhabitants. Therefore, it is necessary to look for all possible ways to eliminate the consequences of such disasters.
One of the directions of this work is biological purification using oil-oxidizing bacteria of the genera Pseudomonas, Burkholderia Acidovorax, Serratia and others, which are constantly present in water.
Oil that gets into the water instantly attracts them to itself, and it is she or its fractions that serve as the only food for these bacteria, activating their reproduction.
This natural method of purification laid the foundation for the artificial method of breeding oil lovers.
Its essence lies in the fact that bacteria isolated from water are first placed in a nutrient medium containing oil, and then the formed colonies are transferred to special incubators – fermenters, where the further process of their reproduction takes place under especially favorable conditions.
The biomass obtained in this way is dried and formed into briquettes, which are stored in special refrigerators.
In this state, they retain their activity for as long as desired.
In case of accidents, the crushed briquettes are simply sprayed over the stain.
Barely getting into the water, bacteria immediately revive and begin their noble work.
